Vermont Emergency Management is sponsoring this two-day CERT Basic Training Course. This training is open to anyone who may be interested in learning more about emergency preparedness and response techniques and/or becoming a CERT Member. During this training you will learn:
Basic family and community disaster preparedness
Fire safety and basic hazardous materials awareness
Overview of disaster medical operations
Basic search and rescue techniques
CERT organization and documentation requirements
Team well-being and recognition of signs and symptoms relating to survivor trauma
Overview of response to terrorism
Using the training obtained in the classroom and during hands on training and exercises, CERT members will be able to assist and support their local first responder organizations in various capacities.
There is no charge to attend and lunch will be provided both days at no cost.
